Curaçao

Things to do on Curaçao

Curaçao is a paradise destination for sun, sea, and sand — but this Caribbean island off the coast of Venezuela has so much more to offer. Beyond floating in the turquoise sea or sipping cocktails on powder-white beaches, you can also enjoy plenty of active adventures. Curaçao truly has something for everyone and will not disappoint.

Here’s a quick overview of the coolest activities and the most beautiful sights. Bon bini to Curaçao!

Travel tip

Christoffelberg

Of course, you come to Curaçao to chill, but you can’t leave the island without climbing Christoffelberg. This is the highest point on Curaçao, and from here, you get a fantastic 360-degree view of the entire island. Christoffelberg is 375 meters high, and the climb will take you about 1 to 1.5 hours. Go early in the morning to avoid the heat and enjoy the sunrise while hiking. Along the way, you’ll encounter beautiful tropical plants and birds. Will you take the climb?

Travel tip

Shete boka

In addition to Christoffelpark, Curaçao also has one other national park called Shete Boka. This park has seven coves along the coastline where the sea is often quite rough. You can take several hikes, but there’s little to no shade, which is why the three most popular attractions are made accessible by car. At a few spots, you just need to walk a few minutes. The most spectacular sight is Boka Pistol. Here, the water forcefully crashes into a narrowing of the cove, causing it to shoot meters high into the air. It’s a remarkable natural spectacle, and you might even get a cooling shower if you’re too close. The other two spots are Boka Tabla and Boka Wandome. The first is a cave that you can climb into, and Boka Wandome is a natural rock bridge over the sea.
